Quote of the Day

Revolutions rarely have happy endings. This region of the world is poor, young and largely unemployed. There are no leaders waiting in the wings. There are no demographic foundations in place. We fear a likely outcome of these popular uprisings is the replacement of brutal, autocratic despots with brutal, theocratic despots. What looks like a bright change today, may prove a disaster five or ten years out or much sooner.
